Phone line replacement at Class I Div 2 sites
Standard POTS-replacement boxes are built for indoor closets with an outlet. V2 Class I Div 2 is built for the post at the edge of a tank farm.
What's in the box
- Class I Div 2 certified router, line computer, I/O and solar charge controller
- A phone-line gateway in the NEMA box under the NEC 501.150(B) provision (no make-and-break contacts)
- Final acceptance by your site's evaluator; an explosion-proof enclosure for the gateway is available if needed
- Solar power, so no AC run through the classified area
Where it mounts
In Div 2, or outside the classified boundary. Not in Div 1. Wiring follows NEC Article 501 and your site standards, under your permit process.
